Why Portland is a Great Place to Study Nursing
A booming high-tech industry prompted a 70% increase in Portland's population over the last decade. As such, the area's healthcare needs and demand for nurses and healthcare personnel has grown. While Portland doesn't face the same severe nursing shortage as other cities, Oregon still has some statewide challenges, including the fact that the average age of Oregon nurses is 47, so there's a future possibility that nurses will retire faster than they can be replaced. In Portland, there are a number of opportunities for those interested in nursing education and careers.
